Marco Cousineau makes 41 saves to lift Sea Dogs to win over Mooseheads

Marco Cousineau made 41 saves to win his tenth-straight start and Saint John scored four times in the third period as the Sea Dogs beat the Halifax Mooseheads 6-2 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play Wednesday.
Cousineau hasn't lost since allowing five goals in a defeat to the Moncton Wildcats on Jan. 6.
Aidan Kelly, Stanislav Galiev, Zack Phillips, Nathan Beaulieu, Mike Hoffman and Michael Kirkpatrick had the goals for Saint John (47-9-1). Phillips added two assists.
Charles Bety and Tomas Knotek replied for Halifax (13-40-5).
Mathieu Corbeil-Theriault made 33 saves to take the loss.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Cape Breton 5 Shawinigan 3; Drummondville 4 Victoriaville 2; Val-d'Or 3 Gatineau 1; and Montreal 6 Chicoutimi 2.
At Halifax, the Mooseheads trailed 2-1 after two periods.
Knotek scored 1:35 into the third to tie things for Halifax but Phillips restored the Saint John lead just 22 seconds later.
Beaulieau made it 4-2 at 3:15, before Hoffman gave the Sea Dogs a three-goal advantage just under a minute later.
Kirkpatrick rounded out the scoring at 13:17.
Saint John finished the night 1-for-8 on the power play, while Halifax wound up 0-for-6.
Screaming Eagles 5 Cataractes 3
At Sydney, N.S., Nick MacNeil scored twice and added an assist as the Screaming Eagles topped Shawinigan.
Morgan Ellis and Maxime Legault each added a goal and an assist for Cape Breton (33-20-5), while Viktor Hertzberg also scored. Mathieu Brodeur chipped in with two assists of his own.
Joe Dube scored twice for the Cataractes (28-24-7), and Michael Bournival added a goal and two assists.

At Victoriaville, Que., Marc-Antoine Desnoyers scored twice as Drummondville beat the Tigres.
Christopher DiDomenico had a goal and three assists for the Voltigeurs (40-15-2), while Sean Couturier added the other into an empty net.
Joel Champagne and Tomas Kubalik replied for Victoriaville (39-18-2).

Foreurs 3 Olympiques 1
At Val-d'Or, Que., the Foreurs scored three times in a 1:18 span in the third to stun Gatineau.
Simon Lacroix scored the first for Val-d'Or (22-30-6), before Vincent Couture added two more.
Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored for Gatineau (25-26-5) in the second.

Junior 6 Sagueneens 2
At Montreal, Loik Poudrier, Trevor Parkes and Matthew Brenton each scored twice for the Junior in their win over Chicoutimi.
David Rose and Jeremy Gouchie each added two assists for Montreal (26-25-5).
Mathieu Girard and Eric Gelinas replied for the Sagueneens (22-27-8).
