Cubs keep series alive with win

AMHERST- The Cubs came through in the clutch in their championship series game against the Y's Guys last night.
Entering the game trailing in the best-of-five series by two games to none, the game was a must win for the Cubs.
The Cubs took a 4-2 lead early in the game and then, in the fourth inning with the game tied 4-4, the rain began to come down and the players sat in their respective dugouts until the rains subsided.
When the rain stopped the Cubs bats came alive once again.
Matt Hunter and Matt McCrossin each had two singles on the night and Willie Legere hit one single.
Joey O'Dell hit a double in the fifth iinning, knocking in the winning run.
O'Dell pitched all six innings for the Cubs, giving up eight hits on three walks and striking out ten batters, two of which came at the bottom of the sixth inning.
On the other side of the diamond the Y's Guys Alex VanSnick gave up six hits, two walks and struck out seven batters.
The Y's Guys' Corey Hunter led the way in the batting department with three singles.
Brandon Leblanc hit two singles and Peter Kane, Jordan Mont and Joel McCrossin each had singles.
With the refuse-to-die attitude of the Cubs, the series now goes into its fourth game Monday night.
