Mixers win consolation over Lions ending Little League ball season

AMHERST - The Mixers' and Lions' Little League season came to an end last night after the Mixers won the second of their best-of-three series 2-0.
The Mixers' Josh Lee pitched the Mixers to a 4-2 win, giving up two hits, four walks and striking out eight batters.
Leading the way for the Mixers at the bat was Emmett Smith with a double, Connor Hurley hitting two singles and Jaret Gallant, Luke Sangster and Jaret Gallant all hitting singles.
Matt Beal pitched just over five innings for the Lions before Stephan Belyea came in for relief.
The two pitchers gave up six hits, five walks and struck out seven batters.
Belyea hit a double for the Lions and Brody Deegan hit a single.
On the Landry Field, it was the Y's Guys taking a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five championship series with the Cubs, winning by a score of 4-1.
Josh Pugsley pitched the win for the Y's Guys with Logan Dowe getting the loss for the Cubs.
Game 3 goes Wednesday night.
