Doolys split in Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER - The Amherst Dooly's Blues Coors Light traveled to Bridgewater last weekend and came out with a split in their Nova Scotia Intermediate Baseball League regular-season finale.
They lost the first game 6-2 and won the second by a score of 13-5.
"That means we won 10 out of our last 12 games," Dooly's manager Barry Anderson said.
"That's a good stretch going into the playoffs."
Jeff Hoeg pitched the first game giving up six runs, ten hits, two walks and four strikeouts. Hitting for Dooly's was Jeff Hoeg, Shane Sexton and Brad Blenkhorn with two singles each and Neal MacDonald had a single.
In their 13-5 win it was Pitcher Tony Legere getting the win after pitching the first four innings.
Legere gave up two runs on four hits, with two walks and two strikeouts.
Mike Keddy came in for relief in the fifth and sixth innings, giving up two runs on one hit, three walks and two strikeouts.
Neal MacDonald pitched the seventh giving up one run on two hits, one walk and one strikeout.
Hitting for the Blues was Jeff Hoeg hitting four for four with four singles. Dave Flade hit a home run and two singles. Tony Legere hit three singles. Corey Blenkhorn had a double and two singles. Neal MacDonald had two singles, Shane Sexton hit two singles and Mike Keddy hit a single.
Anderson said winning 10 out of the last 12 serves notice to the rest of the league
Next up for Dooly's is the Labour Day Provincial Intermediate AAA tournament in Hantsport and Kentville.
