HALIFAX - Try as they might, the Amherst Ramblers have yet to find a way to beat the Halifax Wolverines this season.
The Wolverines scored three times in the third period here last night en route to a 4-0 win over the Ramblers in MJAHL action at the Halifax Forum.
"We played a good game. We outskated them and we out hit them, but we just didn't convert on our scoring opportunities," Rambler coach Corey Crocker said following the game.
It was Halifax's fourth victory over Amherst this season. The loss was Amherst's fourth in five games.
Jared Barker had two goals for the Wolverines, who led 1-0 after two periods. Mark Rogers and Ari Lifschultz also scored for the Wolverines.
Amherst outshot the Wolverines 42 to 38.
The Ramblers return to action on Saturday night when they host the Moncton Gagnon Beavers at the stadium. Game time is 7 p.m.
The club concludes its pre-Christmas schedule on Tuesday when they host the Truro Bearcats at 7:30 p.m.
"We just have to put this one behind us and move on. We're playing good hockey right now but the boys just have to bear down and bury their chances," Crocker said.
Amherst native Justin?Matthews has been called up to play with the?Ramblers on Saturday. He's playing with the Weeks Midget Major AAA club this season.

my comments on the artical darrel cole wrote on the rams may have been a little harsh, i find MR Cole articals well written and informative. i injoy reading all hockey news from around the different leauges. personaly i would like to see bigger stories done on these young rams and im sure other sport fans would like to see the same. mr cole does work hard and spends some of his free time covering sporting events, in no way did i mean to bash his articals' keep up the good work MR Cole, just BIGGER please
