Blues post repeat win over Scotians
SPRINGHILL - It was a case of déjà vu for the Cumberland County Cool Blues who defeated the Pictou County Scotians 7-3 in Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League action in Springhill.
The game was a near carbon copy of a game between the two clubs in early October in which the Blues also scored several goals in the third period to post a four-goal win over the Scotians.
I though it was a good game. I thought we controlled most of the game, Blues coach Ron Reynolds said following the game. Pictou did a good job keeping it close but I thought our guys played hard.
The Blues return to action Friday when they host the first-place Antigonish Bulldogs at the Richard Calder Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
The Blues have yet to beat Antigonish this season.
Hugh McGuish, known more for his brawn than his finesse, led the Blues offensively scoring three times while Colin Feehan, David Burke, Cody Roach and Shane OByrne each scored once.
Roach, Justin Cortes and Mark Rozak each had two assists for Cumberland County, who returns to action on Friday when they host the division-leading Antigonish Bulldogs, while Burke, Feehan, Seth Crowe, Ryan Smith, Matt Noiles, Kirk Kelly and Adam MacDonald each had single assists.
Matt Kimber faced 21 shots in the Blues net while rookie goalie.
