Brennan, Feehan each scored twice
Blues nip Pirates
SPRINGHILL Andrew Brennan had a four-point night and Colin Feehan had three points as the Cumberland County Cool Blues nipped the Strait Pirates 7-6 in Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League action here Friday.
Tied 1-1 entering the second period, the two teams erupted for seven goals in what became a sloppy defensive effort as the Blues jumped out to a 5-4 lead. They added four more goals in the third.
Brennan, who rejoined the Blues this season, scored two goals and assisted on a pair of second period goals by Cody Firth while Seth Crowe also scored for Cumberland County and added an assist.
Mark Rozak, Justin Landry, Travis Davis, Cody Roach, Ryan Smith and Marc Ouellette added assists.
Josh Wood and Luke MacDonald each scored twice for the Pirates while Shawn McManaman made the most of his return to Springhill scoring once. Daniel Hickey had the other Strait goal.
The Blues return to action on Friday when they host the Pictou County Scotians at 7:30 p.m. while on Sunday, Oct. 14, they travel to Antigonish to face the Bulldogs.
