Five and deciding game set for Wednesday night

AMHERST - Cole Stevens gave up four hits and had three hits to lead the Lions to a 7-3 win over the Cumberland Paving Cubs in Amherst Little League championship series action.

With the win, the Lions evened the best-of-five series at two games apiece with the deciding game on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Stevens walked two and struck out 12 and singled twice and doubled.

Brandon Hicks suffered the loss with Ethan Casey also pitching. They gave up 12 hits, walked one and struck out 11.

Jordan MacKenzie doubled and tripled for the Lions while Graden Chitty singled and doubled twice, Danial MacDonald singled twice and Brayden Nichol singled once.

Casey doubled for the Cubs with Reese McLean, Mika Porter and Cal Hoeg adding singles.
