Deciding games Monday night

AMHERST – Veteran Amherst Little League pitchers Jackson Colborne and Graden Chitty went to battle against each other during Game 2 of their best-of-three semi-final playoff series Wednesday night on the Sonny Foster field.

In the end it was Colborne’s Casey Concrete Mixers edging Chitty’s Lions 2-1.

Colborne struck out 11 batters and gave up two hits and two walks.

Colborne also hit a single for the Mixers.

Chitty struck out 10 batters and gave up one hit and nine walks.

Chitty and Danial MacDonald hit one double each.

With the win, the series in now tied 1-1. The Lions won Game-One 17-7.

Cubs vs. Y’s Guys (Landry field)

After losing Game-One 7-1 the Cubs came back in Game-Two to beat the Y’s Guys 13-2.

Ethan Casey pitched the win for the Cubs, striking out 14 batters and gave up four batters and three walks.

Cal Hoeg led the Cubs with three RBI’s off of one triple and one single, Brandon Hicks had two RBI’s off of one single, and Ty Beed had one RBI off of one single.

Four batters took to the mound for the Y’s Guys.

Tyler Baker, Zach Boudreau, Jake Adams and Jayden Matheson combined to strike out eight batters, while giving up six hits and 17 walks.

With two outs, the bases loaded and a full count, Adams managed to get out of trouble after striking out the final batter in the fourth inning.

Jackson Comeau hit a double and a single for the Y’s Guys, and Colson Brown knocked in two runners with a single hit.

With both series tied 1-1, both deciding games start Monday night at 6 p.m.
