McLean’s five RBIs pace Cubs over Mixers

Ethan Casey of the Cumberland Paving Cubs delivers a pitch in recent little league action. The Cubs defeated the Mixers on Monday night while the Lions nipped the Y's Guys.

AMHERST – Danial MacDonald had the big hit and Graden Chitty pitched a complete-game two-hitter as the Lions defeated the Y’s Guys 3-2 in Amherst Little League A system action on Monday night.

MacDonald hit a double for the Lions only hit off Tyler Baker while Chitty gave up four walks and struck out 11. Baker walked five and struck out eight.

Colson Brown and Cameron Hardie singled for the Y’s Guys.

In the other game, Reese McLean hit a pair of doubles and drove in five runs as the Cumberland Paving Cubs defeated the Casey Concrete Mixers 11-4.

Ethan Casey and Brandon Hicks shared the win giving up five hits, walking eight and striking out 10.

Jackson Colborne went the distance for the Mixers giving up five hits, walking 11 and striking out 14.

Mika Porter singled twice for the Cubs while Luke Carde hit one single.

In B system action from Monday, Harrison’s Home Hardware defeated Sprott Power 7-6.

Tyler Brown, Carter Sharpe and Mattix McBurnie each hit two singles for Harrison’s while Aidan McBurnie, Jaxon Reynolds and Ethan Rose each had one single.

Burke Beed singled and homered for Sprott Power while Chase Harrison hit two singles.

Michael Noiles, Colby Mills, Dylan McManaman, Connor Smith and Keona DeBay each hit one single.
