AMHERST – Tied 28-28 with a little over five minutes left in the third period, the Springhill Golden Eagles surged in the fourth quarter to beat the Amherst Selects 53-38 during girls basketball action Wednesday night in Amherst.

Scorers for Springhill was 15 points for Morgan Bishop, Alexa Thompson with 12, six for Kylee Balser and Jordyn Tanahill, five for Shelby Beaton, Mallory Thompson and Shelby Beaton with four each and Jessie Cummings with two points.

 Scorers for the Selects were eight points for Emma Taylor and Hannah Beland, five points for Rachel Chevarie, four points for Brooke Wilson and Miah Tooley, three points for Sonia Minocha and Risha McKenney, and two points for Maddison Bennett.
