Winner goes to the national CIS women's hockey tournament

Morgan Entwistle scored the winner 1:42 into the extra period as Mount Allison evened their best-of-three series at a game apiece.

SACKVILLE, N.B. – The Mount Allison hockey Mounties won game 2 of the AUS women’s hockey championships Thursday at the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Centre in front of a packed house.

The Mounties downed the visiting Moncton Aigles Bleues in the first period of overtime with a final score of 3-2.

This forces a game 3 in the series after the Aigles Bleues defeated the visiting Mounties 2-1Tuesday evening.

In Thursday's game, Moncton led 2-0 after the first period on a pair of power play goals.

Mount Allison’s Jen Bell narrowed the gap in the second off a Shelby Colton assist, making it 2-1 heading into the third.

The Mounties’ Courtney King, assisted by Emily van Diepen and Lindsay James, knotted the game at 2-2 on a power-play goal in the third.

Megan Entwistle sealed the win for her Mounties with an unassisted goal at 1:42 of the first period of overtime.
