Austin has five points in clinching game against Antigonish
NEW GLASGOW – The Cumberland County Albion Auto Peewee A Ramblers won three times and tied another to place first in their divisional playoffs over the weekend.
The first-place finish clinches a spot to represent the area in the next phase of the playoffs in Sydney.
In the opener, Cal Hoeg had two goals and Riley MacKenzie and Connor Austin each had a goal and two assists in a 5-1 win over the Pictou County Crushers.
JD Pettigrew also scored while Alaina Porter had two assists and Cole Stevens had one helper.
Braydon Nichol and Hoeg each scored once in a 2-2 tie with the Truro Bearcats.
Austin, Jordan MacKenzie and Kyle Allen each had assists.
In the third game, Austin scored two goals as the Ramblers defeated the Brookfield Elks 4-0.
Jaeden MacPhee and Riley MacKenzie each scored once and Zack Gould added an assist.
In their final game, Austin had three goals and two assists as the Ramblers defeated the Antigonish Bulldogs 7-2.
Riley MacKenzie had two goals and three assists, Hoeg had a goal and two assists and Bryson Chapman had a goal.
