CACL helping Special Olympians pursue their dreams

AMHERST – Members of the Special Olympics of Amherst are dedicated to training and also dedicated to raising money for their athletic pursuits.

The Canadian Association for Community Living recently presented a $1,500 cheque to the Special Olympics of Amherst.

On hand for the presentation was SOA coordinator, Martha Saunders, bowling and soccer athlete, Rebecca LeBlanc, basketball and bocce athlete, Scott Park, and Nancy Park of the CACL.

Members of the Special Olympics Amherst Soccer team have been training hard all winter long as they prepare to compete at the 2014 Special Olympics Summer Games in Vancouver.

The games run from July 8 to 12 at the University of British Columbia.
