Matthews leads J&K to victory with four goals, two assists

AMHERST – Justin Matthews, Adam MacDonald and Brendon Grimes led J&K Electric to a 13-6 win over the Elmbree Pub & Grill Tuesday night during Amherst Adult Hockey League action at Amherst Stadium.

Matthews scored four goals and two assists, MacDonald scored three goals and two assists, and Grimes had three goals.

Jason Rhinas added two goals, and Scott Clarke had a goal and an assist.

Jim Forest had two assists for the Electric, while Dan Anger added two assists, and Brad Linkletter and Dave McLeod had one assist each.

Alex Legere scored three goals for the Elmtree and Corey Skinner added two goals and two assists.

Robert Evans added two assists, and Greg Brennan, Nick Dobson, Chris Dwyer and Mike Hunter had one assist each.

Goaltending statistics were not available.

Matthews, who is a former MHL Amherst Ramblers captain, is second in the AAHL scoring race with 65 points, 32 goals and 33 assists in 23 games. He is 10 points behind Matt Cormier who plays for Bluewave Energy.

Matthews' team, J&K, is now in second place in the league standings with 29 points, three points behind league-leading Colson Overhead Doors.
