Ramblers host Commandos, Mariners Saturday and Sunday

NEW GLASGOW - The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers lost 4-2 to the Pictou County Weeks Crushers last night at the Pictou County Wellness Centre in New Glasgow.
Amherst got on the board first when Justin Thomas scored at 9:10 into the first period off passes from Serge Boisvert and Alex Rawding.
The Crushers scored the next three goals and bothy teams went to the dressing room for the first intermission with Pictou County up 3-1.
The Crushers came out in the second and went up 4-1 at 5:56 into the frame but the Ramblers made it a 4-2 game a little over three minutes later when Thomas scored his second of the night off feeds from Jamie Bishop and Bruce Hornbrook.
There was no scoring in the third period.
Richard Tingley was in goal for the Ramblers and he faced 36 shots, while his teammates fired 24 shots at Crushers goaltender Brandon Thibeau.
778 people attended the game.
The Ramblers have two games at home this weekend.
On Saturday they host the Dieppe Commandos at 7 p.m., and then on Sunday they host the Yarmouth Junior A Mariners beginning at 4 p.m.
The Ramblers lost 7-4 to the Mariners last Friday in Yarmouth.
