Truro cheerleading teams bring A game to Atlantic Showdown

SAINT JOHN, N.B. - The Truro All-Star Cheerleading Company continued a red-hot start to the competition season on the weekend at Atlantic Showdown in Saint John, N.B.

The Truro All-Star Cheerleading Company brought home an impressive haul of banners Sunday from Atlantic Showdown in Saint John, N.B. Truro teams won Of the five Truro squads which competed at the event, four earned division wins, landing Truro the event's program championship banner for the best combined club score. Of the five Truro squads, which competed at the event, four earned division wins, garnering Truro the event's program championship banner for the best combined club score.

Truro's senior level 4.2 team won its division and also laid claim to the overall level championship banner while the Truro senior 2 team won its category.

The Truro Tigers, which will compete at the Universal Cheerleaders Association International All-Star Championship in Kissimmee, Fla., March 15 and 16, won the 10-team small youth level 1 category and claimed the most innovative choreography and overall level champions awards.

The Truro Cheetahs large youth level 1 team also won its division while the Truro Leopards youth level 2 squad finished third.

Truro teams also took four of a possible five banners two weeks ago at their first competition of the season - Cheer Blast - in Halifax.

Truro teams are back in action March 1 and 2 at Maritime Meltdown at Exhibition Park in Halifax.
