Jesse Colborne scored three goals against the Bulldogs Sunday in Antigonish.

ANTIGONISH – Jesse Colborne scored a hat trick, including the overtime winner, to lead the Cumberland County Blues to their second win in a row.

Colborne scored the games first goal with 16:22 into the first period of their Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League showdown against the Bulldogs Sunday in Antigonish. Shane Harnish assisted on the goal.

Dmitrii Aninkin put the Blues up 2-0 with three seconds left in the first. Shawn Wright assisted on the goal.

The Bulldogs tied the game 2-2 with 11 minutes left in the second period but, three minutes later, Colborne put the Blues up 3-2, with an assist from Drew McNutt.

Antigonish tied the game 3-3 with 3:40 left in the second period.

Neither team was able to score in the third period and the game went to overtime, where Colborne scored with 53 seconds left in the frame.

Blues goaltender Jesse Cox faced 27 shots, and his teammates had 19 shots on Bulldogs goaltender Patrick McNamara.

With the win the Blues climb to within five points of the Bulldogs for the final playoff spot in the Sid Row Division.
