Rhinos suffer late collapse to fall victim to Wild

TRURO – The Fundy Rhinos were nipped 5-4 by the South Shore Wild recently in the Nova Scotia Junior C Hockey League.

With less than five minutes remaining, the Wild struck three times in 2:10 to erase a 4-2 deficit.

The result leaves the Rhinos (6-5-1-0) in fourth in the seven-team league while the Wild (4-11-0-0) are sixth.

Neil Smith, Perry McDonald, Mitch Hamilton and Dalton Turner did the scoring for the Rhinos while Kevin MacDonald, Greg Capstick, Brandon Beaulieu and Andrew Robinson added assists. Eric Durand made 18 saves in the Fundy crease.

The Rhinos are back in action Friday when they host the Clare Lions at 8 p.m. at RECC.
