Three-day, 16 team Mini-Girls tourney wraps up Sunday at 1:00 pm at CNA, SSA

AMHERST-The Cumberland North Academy (CNA) Hawks and Amherst Selects were two of 14 teams from across the Maritimes who competed in the Amherst Mini-Girls Invitational basketball tournament this weekend.

Games were contested on four different courts at three different locations: Spring Street Academy (Amherst), Cumberland North Academy (Brookdale) and Oxford Regional Education Centre (courts one and two).

Other teams included three Bedford teams as well as single teams from Antigonish, Lancaster, Moncton, Truro, Fundy, Oxford, Kings County, Sackville (NB and NS), Sussex and Charlottetown.

The 'A' Division championship game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm at Spring Street Academy while the 'C' Division championship game is slated to begin at 1:00 pm at Cumberland North Academy.

Division 'B' and 'D' championship games were played Sunday morning.

All totalled, 32 basketball games were played this weekend: eight Friday evening, 16 on Saturday and eight more Sunday morning/afternoon.
