BRIDGEWATER – For the second straight night the Pictou County Weeks Crushers feel in a shootout as the Bridgewater Lumberjacks took Friday night’s game 3-2.

Brandon Parsons opened the scoring for the Crushers with one second remaining in the first period.

Just 49 seconds into the second period Connor Hilton scored on the power play to tie the game.

Shaun McEachern scored for the Lumberjacks in the third to take the lead before Garrett Lambke’s goal just 40 seconds later. Neither team scored again in regulation or overtime, sending the game to a shootout.

Ryan Groom and Connor MacEachern scored in the shootout for the Lumberjacks, while Nick Parker and Mitchell Deruelle fail to score on their attempts.

Brandon Thibeau made 29 saves in the loss, while Cory Petersen made 44 saves for the win.

Saturday night the Crushers take on the Valley Wildcats for the first time this season.
