Blues lose 4-2 to Penguins

SPRINGHILL – A third period rally fell short as the Cumberland County Blues lost 4-3 Friday night to the East Hants Penguins during Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League action Friday night at the Richard Calder Arena in Springhill.

Down 3-0 after two periods, Paul Gulliver scored a minute and a half into the third period off assists from Zach Black and Zach Anderson.

Less than two minutes later Jonathan Tattrie pulled the Blues to within one goal of the Penguins off a pass from Gil Murdock, but the Penguins scored 16 seconds later and the game ended 4-2 for the Penguins.

Blues goaltender Jesse Cox was busy in goal, facing 52 shots, while his teammates had 23 shots on the Penguins goal.
