AMHERST – The Amherst Regional High School Vikettes won Tuesday night’s game 7-4 against Northumberland Regional High School, and followed that win up with a 2-0-exhibition win over Tantramar High School last night.
“It's so nice to see the girls coming together as a team trusting in one another,” said coach Amanda Barlow after Thursday’s win. “They are passing and playing as a team.”
The Vikettes were up 3-0 in the first half against Northumberland but the half ended with the teams tied 3-3.
The Vikettes added four goals in the second half to Northumberland’s second half goal.
Megan Proctor scored four goals in the game, while Danielle Young scored two and Victoria Hicks scored one goal.
Proctor and Young scored one goal each in the win over Tantramar.
“We have a mixture or girls this year but they are a great bunch of ladies and we look forward to seeing what will come for us in the last three weeks of the season,” said Barlow.
The Vikings also played Northumberland on Tuesday at ARHS. They lost 4-1, with Kyle Porter scoring the lone Vikings goal.
The Vikings and Vikettes travel to Northumberland for a rematch on Tuesday.
