Boisvert, Shute each scored two goals

The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers picked up their first win of the season in Yarmouth on Friday night.

YARMOUTH – Brett Shute and Serge Boisvert each scored twice as the Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers defeated the Yarmouth Mariners 6-3 in Maritime Junior Hockey League action on Friday.

Amherst plays in Truro on Saturday in the Bearcats home-opener at the Rath Eastlnk Community Centre.

In Friday's game, the Ramblers built up a 4-1 lead early in the third period only to see Yarmouth pull to within one before two goals in the last minute sealed the win.

Ross Martin and Ryan Caswell also scored for the Ramblers, who picked up their first win of the season after going 0-3 during the opening weekend.

Brock Morrison had two assists for Amherst with Shute, Caswell, Nick Cass, Willie MacDonald and Cam McDonald adding single assists.

Sean Fraser, Zach Henry and Kyle Campbell scored for Yarmouth.

Richard Tingley earned the win in goal for Amherst; Anderson snair suffered the loss for the Mariners.
