Halifax opened the scoring just 51 seconds into the first period with Dillon Boucher making the extra move to trick Matthew Williams and slide the puck home.

With just 58 seconds remaining in the frame Nathaniel Lege scored the first Weeks Major Midgets goal of the season, but just 45 seconds later Shawn Hubley put the McDonalds up 2-1 before the intermission.
