TRURO – It was an up and down opening to the ACAA soccer season for the Dalhousie Rams.
The Rams women defeated the Crandall Chargers 3-1 but the men dropped a 2-0 decision on home turf.
Both Rams squads are back in action Saturday when they travel to Charlottetown to take on the Holland Hurricanes.
Leah Cook led the Rams with a pair of goals just two minutes apart while Melanie Porter also scored. The Rams peppered the Chargers net with 23 shots while allowing just five on their own goal.
Kaila McGraw responded for Crandall.
In men’s action, Caleb Cormier and David Mugengat did the Crandall scoring. The Rams took 27 shots at the Crandall net while the Chargers mustered just 12 shots.
