Reds, Jager Bombs Win League Titles

Jager Bombs' player Matt Keddy's three-run home run in the top of the 7th inning propelled his team to victory Thursday night over Sobeys. The Jager Bombs won the Division II title 4 games to 1 over Sobeys while the Reds defeated IMP 4 games to 2 to claim the Division 1 title.

AMHERST-The 2013 Amherst Men`s Slopitch League season came to a grinding halt Thursday night.

The Jager Bombs, on the strength of a three-run home run by Matt Keddy in the top of the 7th inning, propelled them to a 24-21 win over Sobeys.

With the victory, the Jager Bombs won the Division II title 4 games to 1.

Despite splitting the first four games of the Division I finals with the Cumberland Reds, IMP came up just a little short Thursday night, losing game 5 by a score of 12-10 to Reds, who beat IMP 10-6 in game 6.

The Cumberland Reds won the series 4 games to 2.

Bates-Merrill starts Friday night and runs through Sunday afternoon at Robb`s Centennial Complex. ARHS Vikings Alumni games (wooden bat, no home run rule) go Tuesday, August 13 starting at 6:30 pm on Robb`s 1.
