Max Power is just one of the MainStream Wrestling Entertainment stars who will be in Amherst on Friday taking part in Wrestle for the Ramblers 2, a fundraiser for the CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers.
AMHERST – Professional wrestling returns to the Amherst Stadium tonight when MainStream Wrestling Entertainment presents Rumble for the Ramblers 2.
Showtime is 7 p.m.
While last year’s event featured lady stars from Hulk Hogan’s television show, Friday’s card will host TV talent from NTV’s Legends of Wrestling program.
Newfoundland’s Max Power - making his MSW debut in Amherst - joins Maritime co-stars, Narcis Saint and Sexton Phoenix. They will complement villainous Sidewalk Sam, and Twilight-esque vampire, fan-favorite, Forest Cullen, who is visiting Amherst for the first time from Forks, Washington.
It’s the second year in a row Ramblers hockey club President, Jim Henwood is collaborating with the popular wrestling troupe to pull off what MainStream promoter, Devin Chittick says will be an even bigger show than last year.
Chittick, who has been operating the promotion for almost 13 years, promises a diverse line-up of talent (in addition to a few surprises) scheduled for Friday night will provide thrilling action and memories for the fans, especially the Main Event of the evening: an over-the-top-rope Royal Rumble-style battle royal where the final two men standing will battle in a Ladder Match!
“A Ladder Match is one of the most exciting matches in all of wrestling,” says Chittick. “There will be a contract hanging above the ring, and the final two men left standing in the rumble will pull out all the stops in order to climb the ladder and claim the prize,.”
Chittick said the ladder can - and will - be used as a weapon, too, which is perfectly allowable.
Tickets for Rumble for The Ramblers 2 are on sale now at Mike’s Drive Thru & Convenience on South Albion Street.
