Farrell hits three homers for Lions, Sjanic drives in three for Y’s Guys

AMHERST – Michael Farrell hit three home runs and singled twice as the Lions romped to a 20-5 win over the Mixers in Amherst Little League Baseball action on Monday.

Mats Stone doubled and tripled, Graden Chitty doubled twice and singled, Matthew Hunter singled twice and Braden Nichol singled once for the Lions.

Jackson Colborne doubled twice for the Mixers, while Riley Girouard and Isaac VanSnick each singled.

Cole Stevens earned the win on the mound for the Lions giving up four hits, walking eight and striking out eight. Jill Gallant and Girouard pitched for the Mixers. They gave up 14 hits, walked 10 and struck out 12.

In the other game, Aaron Sjanic homered once, tripled and singled twice as the Y’s Guys defeated the Cumberland Paving Cubs 22-4.

Jackson Comeau homered and singled for the Y’s Guys, while Connor Austin doubled once and singled three times, Colson Brown tripled and singled, Anthony Hazel hit four singles and Tyler Baker and Brady Crowe each singled three times. Nate Stone singled twice and Jayden Matheson singled once.

Cal Hoeg hit two singles for the Cubs, Ethan Casey doubled and Brock McEachern singled once.

Nate Stone, Comeau and Sjanic pitched for the Y’s Guys. They gave up four hits, walked nine and struck out 13. Hoeg and Casey pitched for the Cubs. They gave up 25 hits, walked three and struck out three.
