Selects win two, lose two in Massachusetts

WALTHAM, MASS – The Canadian Tire Amherst Selects participated in the annual little league tournament in Waltham, Massachusetts over the weekend and came home with two wins and two losses, one win coming by way of a forfeit.

They beat Marblehead 18-8 on Sunday.

Michael Farrell and Cole Stevens both hit a triple and a single in the win, while Mats Stone hit a double and a single, and Nate Stone hit a single.

The Selects won their first Saturday game by forfeit, and lost their second Saturday game 11-9 to the host team.

Farrell hit four singles in the loss and Cal Hoeg hit three singles.

Also hitting for the Selects was Graden Chitty with a double, and Stevens, Aaron Sjanic and J.D. Pettigrew with one single each

On Friday, the Selects lost their first game of the tournament 7-2.

Jackson Colborne got the Selects off to a good start.

He was the first up to bat for the Selects and he bashed the ball out of the park, scoring a home run.

Farrell hit two singles, while Pettigrew, Sjanic and Nate Stone hit one single each.
