Contributions will help children play this summer
Kevin Soehner of Canadian Tire presents $2,100 in soccer balls to Fundy Soccer Association leaders and participants Nathalie Chevarie, Jessica Kinnear, Austin Murray and Rachel Chevarie.
AMHERST – Kevin Soehner believes is active, healthy children.
Through Canadian Tire and the Jumpstart Foundation, Soehner donated $2,100 worth of soccer balls to the Fundy Youth Soccer Association.
Jump Start has also provided $1,500 in funding to support children wanting to play soccer this summer.
"We like to help where we can with local events. An opportunity came along to help out with the soccer association and we jumped at it," said Soehner.
Soehner and Jumpstart have been big supporters of amateur sports and youth activities in Amherst and Cumberland County. More than 500 children were assisted last year through the program and Soehner said last November that he expected to dispense about $23,000 this year.
All the money raised through Jumpstart donations go back into the community.
