The Amherst Junior C Colts have printed 250 cash draw tickets, and George Baker says they're going to sell out fast.
AMHERST - The Amherst Junior C Colts hockey organization is returning to Amherst for the second season in a row, and so is the Amherst Junior C Colts Cash Draw.
Tickets for the cash draw are available right now.
"It's one of the major fundraisers for the Junior C Colts," said George Baker, fundraising co-ordinator for the Colts.
Tickets cost $100 each.
"You can pay the entire $100 at once or pay five payments of $20," said Baker.
That $100 gives ticket holders a chance to win $1,000, $500, or $300.
"Starting August 1 there will be draws for $500 on the 1st of each month," said Baker. "And starting August 15, draws for $300 will be held on the 15th of each month."
The exception to the rule is December.
In December there will be one draw. That draw will be Dec. 20, and it will be worth $1,000.
The last four draws are Jan. 1 and Jan. 15, and Feb 1 and Feb. 15.
"The number of tickets printed is 250," said Baker. "So you'll have to get your tickets early because last year was a sellout."
All proceeds raised go to the operations of the hockey club and their equipment, such as new jerseys and pants, and to pay for ice time and travel.
Last years Colts were competitive, and Baker said the team will be bigger and better in the coming season.
"We'll be coming out with special ticket prices for students," said Baker. "It's good hockey, and we want families to come out and watch Sunday afternoons."
Tickets can be purchased by calling Baker at 667-5548 or 669-4222, or they can be purchased from any executive member of the Junior C Colts.
