Ramblers down 2-1 in series

AMHERST – The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers lost 7-2 to the Bearcats Sunday night in Truro.
The Ramblers got off to a bad start, going down 4-0 at 15:33 into the first period, before making it a 4-1 game with a little over a minute left in the frame.
Ramblers Captain Kody Orr got the goal on the power play with help from Cam McDonald and Willie MacDonald.
The Bearcats went up 5-1 at 6:56 into the second period when McDonald made a 5-2 game three minutes later off a pass from Maxime Richard.
The third was all Truro as they scored two unanswered goals.
Ramblers goaltender Richard Tingley was chased out of the net in the first period after the Bearcats scored four times on 10 shots.
Chase Marchand came in as back up and stopped 14 of the 17 shots he faced.
Their teammates had 23 shots on Bearcats netminder Shayne Campbell.
With the loss the Ramblers are down 2-1 in their best-of-seven Eastlink Division final against the Bearcats.
There were 2,195 in attendance at last night’s game.
The Ramblers host Truro Tuesday night at Amherst Stadium.
Game time is 7:30 p.m.
