Rams and Bears split first two games 1-1

AMHERST – It’s now a best-of-five series.
That’s the way things stand after the Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers lost 5-3 Friday night in Amherst in Game 2 of their Maritime Hockey League best-of-seven division final matchup against the Truro Bearcats.
The loss comes after beating the Bearcats 3-2 during Game 1 Tuesday night in Truro.
FRIDAY NIGHTS RESULTS
The Bearcats took a 2-0 lead at 11:16 in the first period when the Ramblers Ben Berisha cut the Bearcats lead in half at the 11:46 mark.
Maxime Richard and Brett Shute assisted on the goal.
Truro went up 3-1 on a power play at 3:28 into the second period, but Shute made it a 3-2 game a little over a minute later, with assists from Danny Harquail and Jamie Bishop.
The Bearcats made it a 4-2 game at 8:42 into the second and scored again less than a minute later, making it a 5-2 game going into the second intermission.
Ramblers captain Kody Orr scored the only goal in the third period. It was during a power play off passes from Mitchell O’Neill and Bishop. The goal was scored at 12:46 into the third period.
Truro had 38 shots on Ramblers goaltender Richard Tingley, while his teammates fired 32 shots at the Truro goal face.
Attendance at the game was 1,762.
The Ramblers travel to Truro on Sunday.
