KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – The 2013 points season is just underway in the United States and Amherst native Ryan Mackintosh has sent a message that he is prepared to chase the national points title.
Mackintosh was able to dominate both INEX Semi-Pro events this weekend at Concord Speedway in North Carolina.
On Friday night, Mackintosh started second but took the lead by passing the pole sitter on the first lap with a daring move on the outside. The Canadian driver then held off the field in two late restarts to claim the win.
Mackintosh put his #03 Legend Car on the pole on Saturday night, setting a new track qualifying record in the process. The 16-year-old went on to lead from flag to flag and capture his second win in as many nights.
Mackintosh has had a solid start to 2013 already winning the INEX Winter Heat Series and the Battle of the Carolinas Series.
