AMHERST - The Aerials Gymnastics Club had one athlete finish first overall, and had two athletes qualify for the provincial championships during the Titans Gymnastics meet in Dartmouth over the weekend.
"Emma (Sjanic) was solid all the way across the board, and finished first overall in Argo 1," said Aerials coach, Michelle Landry. "She has a lot of talent, and she decided to tighten up those knees and get rid of those little deductions."
Before the meet in Dartmouth, two competitive athletes still needed to qualify for the provincials being held in Amherst in April.
"Kirsten (Mason) and Darcy (Fullerton) both qualified, so that means the whole team has qualified for provincials," said Landry.
Mason said it felt good to qualify.
"I stepped up my game because I really wanted to qualify for the provincials here at home," said Mason.
Mason said she wants to improve in vault and bars, and said, "I want to have more emotion in my floor routine so I don't look like a robot."
The club is looking for volunteers for this weekend to help move equipment from the club to ARHS, and to help at the canteen.
