Amherst skaters return from Dartmouth

Pulsifer wins bronze

AMHERST – Eleven Amherst Skating Club figure skaters recently competed at the 2013 Robert McCall Memorial Competition in Dartmouth.

It was the first away competition for Eight-year-old Olivia Pulsifer, and she came home with a bronze medal.

Pulsifer has been skating for three years and she her best favourite skills are the spiral and the backwards crosscut.

Also skating in Dartmouth at the competition was exchange student, Alexandra Bouman. She is from Holland and is immersing herself in Canadian sport.

The skaters are now preparing for the Nova Scotia StarSkate Championships March 2-3 in Port Hawkesbury.

The club will host the annual Skatefest the following weekend March 6, from 2 to 9 p.m. at Amherst Stadium.

The event is open to all spectators.
