AMHERST – After losing 6-4 to the top team in the Eastlink Division Saturday night at Amherst Stadium, the Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers traveled to Truro Sunday night and downed divisions second place team, the Bearcats, 4-1.

Truro scored the first goal of the night and that’s all they could muster against the Ramblers, who are nipping at their heels in third place in the Eastlink Division.

Jeff MacPherson tied the game 1-1 before the period ended off power play passes from Willie MacDonald and Jacob Conrad.

Rambler captain Kody Orr put the Ramblers up 2-1 at 1:28 into the second period on the power play. Assisting on the goal was Jamie Bishop and Mitchell O’Neill.

At 2:19 into the third it was Conrad putting the Ramblers up 3-1 off feeds from Josh Pugsley and Patrick Harrison, and then Danny Harquail put the Ramblers up 4-1, scoring an empty-netter at 18:32 into the third off a pass from Brock Morrison.

Richard Tingley stopped 29 of 30 shots, while his teammates had 24 shots on the Truro net.

Attendance was 386.
