Thompson scores 17

Vikings player Adrian VanVulpen fought off several Pugwash Panthers that try to strip him of the ball in the Vikings offensive zone last night at ARHS.

AMHERST - After a close first half, the Amherst Regional High School Vikings basketball team came out in the second half and downed the Pugwash Panthers 80-56 Wednesday night, at ARHS.

Ryan Thompson led the Vikings with 17 points, followed by Jason Morse with 12, and Logan Dowe with 11 points and 9 rebounds.

"We had a balanced effort from the guys tonight," said Vikings coach Matt Gamblin after the game. "Our execution and attention to detail is improving.

"As a team we are trying to set a fast-pace and play with a sustained energy for 40 minutes," he added. "It's getting there."
