GLACE BAY – The Cumberland County Community Credit Union midget female Ramblers blanked the Glace Bay Miners 4-0 here Sunday to cap off a perfect weekend in their Cape Breton swing portion of the Nova Scotia North Conference Midget Female Hockey League.
Sydney Skinner fired two goals and two assists to lead the Ramblers to victory, while Elyse Ferguson sniped the other two Cumberland goals. Adele Mansour and Casie Skidmore each chipped in with two assists, and Brianna Dorey, Alex Hicks and Chelsea Davis added single helpers. Jennie Underwood earned the shutout in the Credit Union net.
Cumberland held period leads of 1-0 and 3-0 en route to the win.
In Sydney on Saturday, the Ramblers defeated the Cape Breton County Islanders by a 3-0 score at the Coxheath Community Recreational Center.
Chelsea Davis led the Ramblers with a pair of goals from the point, while Sydney Skinner potted the other Cumberland marker. Elyse Ferguson and Adele Mansour each had an assist, and Miranda March earned the shutout win.
The two teams were tied at zero after the opening frame of play, and the Ramblers had staked themselves to the 3-0 lead after the middle stanza.
