Zach Perrin scores seven tourney goals, two more in Pettitcodiac

ANTIGONISH – The Cumberland County D.W. Thompson Esso-Scotsburn Dairy midget AA Ramblers recently finished as the runner up at a hockey tournament in Antigonish, losing 5-3 in the championship game to the Canso Bluefin’s.

Pat Quinn scored one goal and two assists in the loss, while Jerico MacPhee had a goal and one assist. Also scoring for the Ramblers was Zach Perrin with an unassisted goal. Jesse Gouchie and Joel St. Peter had one assist each.

The Ramblers also played their first game of the tournament against Canso, losing 4-2.

Zach Perrin scored both Rambler goals, while Connor Hurley had one assist.

They jumped on the winning track in their second game of the tournament, beating the Antigonish Bulldogs 5-0.

Zach Perrin led the way with two goals and one assist. Also scoring for the Ramblers was Reilly McMillan, Gouchie and MacPhee with one goal each.

Assisting on the goals was Noah Perrin and Hurley with two each, while Matt Smith, Quinten Merlin and Quinn scored one assist each.

The Ramblers also won their second game of the tournament, beating the Pictou County Weeks Crushers 3-1.

Zach Perrin scored two more goals, and MacPhee had one goal and one assist. Tristan Boss also had an assist.

The Ramblers also travelled to Pettitcodiac on Saturday where they lost 8-3 to the Pettitcodiac Flyers.

They went into the New Brunswick Central Midget Hockey League game with a short bench, as they had six players with suspensions and one player that was hurt.

Once again Zach Perrin scored two goals in the game. Also scoring was St. Peter with one goal and one assist, while Boss and Merlin had one assist each.
