NEW GLASGOW – The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers went into last night’s game against the Pictou County Weeks Crushers with a four-game win streak in hand, but that streak came to an end with a 6-5 loss.

Down 1-0 early in the first period, the Ramblers Kody Orr tied the game 1-1 with 37 seconds left in the first. Kyle Beckwith assisted on the goal.

Down 3-1 in the second, Ben Berisha made it a 3-2 game off a power play assist from Danny Harquail. The Crushers then went up 5-2, before Serge Boisvert made it a 5-3 game off a pass from Jesse MacInnis.

The Ramblers pulled Chase Marchand from goal in the second after he let in four goals on 13 shots, replacing him with Richard Tingley.

The Crushers Brandon Parson then put his team up 6-3 at 1:08 into the third with an unassisted goal.

Jamie Bishop brought the Rambler within two points of the Crushers on a power play pass from Maxime Richard.

Richard then made it 6-5 with 56 seconds left in the game.

The Ramblers outshot the Crushers 37-29.

The Ramblers return to Amherst Stadium Saturday where they host the Yarmouth Jr. A Mariners.

The teams have are 1-1 against each other this season. The Ramblers beat the Mariners 3-1 at home on Nov. 3, and lost 5-2 to the Mariners Sept. 21 in Yarmouth.

Saturday’s action begins at 7 p.m.

The Ramblers also play on Sunday, when they travel to Dieppe for a 2:30 p.m. game against the Commandos.
