TRURO – The Ramblers lost 3-2 to the Bearcats last night during Maritime Hockey League action in Truro.

Truro went up 1-0 early in the first period and that’s how the score remained until 8:04 into the second period when Jeff MacPherson scored on a power play off a pass from Maxime Richard, tying the game 1-1.

The Bearcats made it a 2-1 game only four seconds later on an unassisted goal by Colby Lanceleve.

Truro then went up 3-1 at 57 seconds into the third period, and Brock Morrison made it a 3-2 game under two minutes later. Nobody was able to score for the remainder of the game and that’s how the game ended.

Richard Tingley stopped 26 of 29 shots on the night, while his teammates fired 18 shots at Bearcats goaltender Shayne Campbell.

540 people attended the game.

On Friday, Kody Orr had two goals as the Ramblers scored a 6-4 win over the Slammers in Woodstock.

The Ramblers, jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead and then held off a late Slammers’ rally to pick up their ninth win of the season in a building that has been very unkind to them in past seasons.

It was the Ramblers’ second win this season against the defending league champions.

Mitch O’Neill, Orr and Brock Morris scored in the first period to give the Ramblers a three-goal lead before Jake Wright put the Slammers on the board in the last minute of the period. Both Orr’s and Morrison’s goals came on the power play.

Patrick Harrison scored for the Ramblers in the second period and Orr and MacPherson added two Ramblers goals in the third period.

Ben Berisha and Jamie Bishop each had two assists for the Ramblers. Ben MacDonald, Brett Arthur, Orr, O’Neill and Harrison each had single assists.

Richard Tingley earned the win in goal, facing 40 shots. Sam Renault suffered the loss.

660 people attended the game.
