BRIDGEWATER – Ben Berisha scored two goals and added an assist to pick up first-star honours as the Amherst Ramblers won their third in a row with a 4-2 win over the Bridgewater Lumberjacks in Maritime Junior Hockey League action here Friday.
Cam MacDonald picked up his first point of the night as he and Maxime Richard set Berisha up with the game’s first goal 10:47 into the first period.
Jeremy Butterworth tied it moments later, but Ryan Caswell scored at the 12:24 mark to restore Amherst’s lead with Dylan Brake adding an assist.
Brock Morrison and Berisha set up Richard on the power play 2:32 into the second period before Cody Coffin scored for Bridgewater at 5:21.
Berisha’s second of the night at 7:46 rounded out scoring in the game. MacDonald and Patrick Harrison added assists.
Richard Tingley earned the win in goal facing 31 shots. Jordan Lee suffered the loss facing 34 shots.
Amherst returns to action on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. when they host the Weeks Crushers at the Amherst Stadium. It’s the first meeting since the Ramblers lost in overtime to the Crushers in New Glasgow on opening night.
