MacPherson has pair in first end of home-and-home

CAMPBELLTON, N.B. ­– The Amherst Ramblers scored four times over an eight-minute span in the second period en route to a 7-2 win over the Campbellton Tigers in Maritime Junior Hockey League action here Friday.

With the score 1-1 after a period, Jeff MacPherson scored twice and Jesse MacInnis and Ryan Caswell added single goals as the Ramblers jumped out to a 5-1 lead.

Ben Berisha and Jamie Bishop added third period goals for the Ramblers, who host the Tigers at the Amherst Stadium on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Kody Orr scored Amherst’s other goal late in the first period.

Joey Bernard and Robet Pelletier replied for the Tigers.

Amherst outshot the Tigers 29-22 with Richard Tingley picking up the win in nets.

Bishop, Brock Morrison and Josh Pugsley each had two assists for the Ramblers, while MacPherson, Caswell, Brett Shute, Mitch O’Neill, Maxime Richard and Willie MacDonald each had assists.

The win was the Ramblers first on the road this season.
