Bulldogs bring home bronze from provincials

AMHERST – The Cumberland County Coldwell Banker Bulldogs recently finished in third place at the Basketball Nova Scotia juvenile provincial tournament.

The tournament all-star was Patrick Neufeld and Blaine Reid is the team captain.

Results are as follows:

– Third place game – Cumberland County beats Cole Harbour 76-54.

Patrick Neufeld 14 points, with 10 rebounds; Josh Borgal, 11 points; Matt McCrossin 11 points, with 10 rebounds; Dylan Ellis, 10 points; Colby Hicks, seven points; Shaddy Mohamad, six points; Ryan Thompson, five points; Blaine Reid with four points, and Bruce Edey with two points.

Ellis was named Player of the Game.

– Semi-final game – Halifax Osprey beats Cumberland County 58-38.

Reid with 10, Borgal with seven, Neufeld with six, Ellis with six, Mohamed with five, McCrossin and Hicks with two points each.

Borgal was named Player of the Game.

Round robin games.

– Cumberland County beats Dartmouth Lakers 90-49.

Hicks with 15, Thompson and Borgal with 12 each, McKellar 11, Ellis 10, Mohamed with nine, Neufeld 8, Reid scored seven, Edey with three points and 10 boards, and McCrossin with two points.

Hicks was named Player of the Game

 – Cumberland County loses 70-56 to Shelburne.

Neufeld had 19 points and 24 rebounds, McCrossin scored 14 points, Mohamad and Thompson scored five points each, Borgal and Edey had four each, Reid scored three and Elllis scored two.

McCrossin was named Player of the Game.

– Cumberland County beats Cole Harbour 82-42.
