JV Vikettes host six-team tournament beginning Friday

AMHERST – The JV Vikettes basketball team are confident going into the six-team tournament they’re hosting beginning Friday at Amherst Regional High School.

“We’re starting to hit our stride so I think we’re looking pretty strong going into the tournament,” JV coach, Erin Duffy, said.

The first game of the tournament is against Pugwash today at 3:30 p.m.

“We played them on Monday and lost, so we’re looking forward to a rematch,” Duffy said. “We’ll make a few adjustments to our defence and I think it will be a good game.”

Their second game is against West Kings Saturday at 9 a.m.

“We’re confident we’ll have good weekend and I think we have a good chance of taking the title,” Duffy said.

Pool A is ARHS, Pugwash and West Kings, while Pool B is Colonel Gray, Springhill and Hants East.

The schedule is as follows:


3:30 p.m. – ARHS vs. Pugwash

5:15 p.m. – Sprinhill vs. Hants East

7 p.m. – Pugwash vs. West Kings

8:45 p.m. – Colonel Gray vs. Hants East


9 a.m. – ARHS vs. West Kings

10:45 a.m. – Colonel Gray vs. Springhill

1 p.m. – Third in Pool A vs. Third in Pool B

2:45 p.m. – Second in Pool A vs. Second in Pool B

4:30 p.m. – First in Pool A vs. First in Pool B
