Midget Ramblers lose to Moncton, double Fredericton

AMHERST – Reece Lemieux scored two goals and Ryan Bishop had a goal and two assists as the Moncton Hawks defeated the Cumberland County D.W. Thompson Esso-Scotsburn Dairy Ramblers 4-3 in New Brunswick Midget AAA League action here Sunday.

Shane Welshman also scored for Moncton, who led 1-0 after one period and 3-1 after two, while Forest Gallagher, Stephen Belyea and Peter Kane replied for Cumberland.

Pat Quinn had two assists for the Ramblers while Kane and Zac Black added single assists.

In Fredericton on Saturday, Black and Andrew Skinner each had a goal and two assists as the Ramblers defeated the Fredericton Capitals 6-3.

Nic Chapman had a goal and an assist for Cumberland, who led 2-0 after one period and 5-1 after two, while Matt Beal, Zack Perrin and Pat Quinn also scored.

Kane with two and Trystan Boss and Jerico MacPhee with one added assists.

Lucas Brown, Dylan Murchland and Jarrod Scribner replied for Fredericton.

The Ramblers dropped a 5-4 overtime decision to the Truro Bearcats in Truro on Friday. Game results were not available.
