AMHERST – The Fundy Youth Soccer under-14 girls soccer team won a bronze medal after going undefeated at the Nova Scotia Tier 2b championships in Sydney over the weekend.
The girls played to a 4-4 draw in their first game of the tournament, which they played against the eventual gold medal winning team from West Hants.
The team tied the game with only 10 seconds left in regulation.
“It was an amazing goal,” coach John Rossong said. “With only seconds left in the game our goaltender, Maddie Bacon, sprinted out to pick up the ball, kicked it down field to Taylor Chitty and she kicked the ball on the net and scored.”
