AMHERST – The Amherst Ramblers lost 4-3 to the Pictou County Weeks Crushers during Maritime Hockey League exhibtion action last night at Amherst Stadium.

Jamie Bishop, Justin Matthews and Brandon Street scored one goal each for the Ramblers, with single assists being register by Bishop, Brett Shute, Jordan Escott and Shane O’Byrne.

Kody Blois stopped 30 of 34 shots.

Amherst’s Nathan Kelly shared duties in the Crushers net with Dylan Frank. Kelly stopped 16 of 17 shots fired his way.

Shots on goal was 34-33 in favour of the Crushers.

Pictou County went 0 for 4 on the powerplay while Amherst went 1 for 5, with Matthews scoring the powerplay goal for Amherst.

    It was obvious that Pictou were the better team tonight, the Ramblers just couldn't get their passes to click, Pictou bottled them up pretty much all night. Give aways resulted in at least two goals for Pictou. Hope the Amherst team play a better team game tomorrow night in Pictou. "GO RAMBLERS GO"
